Everybody loves to visit Edinburgh. Historically, the city has been the home to many of the Scottish monarchs and is still the capital city of Scotland. With Edinburgh castle being one of the main attractions of the city – being incredibly well preserved with numerous artefacts from throughout the ages it is a must see for all tourists. The cannon firing each day is an event that is likely to stay with you for the rest of your life. Even if you are just planning to shop, the Royal Mile has many high street shops and more local shops which allow you to purchase everything that you could ever need for the duration of your stay.

The only issue is that Edinburgh is a huge city and is almost impossible to traverse on foot. If, for example, you only had one day in the city and you wanted to see St Michael’s Mount and the castle, you would have to walk up and down two pretty formidable looking hills before you got there – by which time you will be tired and want to rest – not allowing you to truly savour the majesty that is Edinburgh. You must, therefore, hire a car if you want to make life easy for yourself. By driving you solve the problem – you just leap in the car and can see all the sights without tiring yourself out. It is the best solution for all concerned and you will get the most you possible can out of your trip – it really is a city you will tell your grandchildren about.
