2009 has been a good year for me so far. Although 2008 was a rough year in terms of the economy and my personal finances, the first few months of this year have treated me much better than all of last year did. On top of that, I have also had some very fun experiences during these past couple of months. I don’t know what the rest of 2009 has in store for me, but I know it is going to be things that are very fun.
Of all the experiences that I have had during the first few months of 2009, I definitely think that my favourite one was my trip to Edinburgh. To begin with, I really like to travel, so anytime I get an opportunity to go somewhere, I am a happy person. Additionally, I had never been to Edinburgh before, so this was a completely new experience to me (which is something that I really enjoy having).
Although I just took my trip about a month and a half ago, I had actually booked it over nine months. Since you are probably wondering why I booked a trip so far in advance when the economy was doing so poorly, the answer to your question is because I got a dirt cheap deal on it. I know that a lot of people say they have gotten great travel deals, and while I don’t doubt what they say, this was literally the cheapest deal that I had ever seen or heard of (I think it may have been a glitch in the system, but I was never able to verify whether it was or not), so I couldn’t pass it up. Now that I have been on my trip, I’m very glad I didn’t, because I had a lot of fun for a very small amount of money.
